[Anyone free to join ] She was alone, and she was afraid. The ground was dry and brittle, and the force of which the mare was running was jarring her legs somewhat and making her speed lessen considerably, but she didn't stop. Her ink black mane flew out behind her and her tail was raised like a banner as she galloped, her nostrils flaring to suck in every ounce of air she could manage, and as she looked down at her rounded belly she knew it wasn't just her legs that were preventing her agility. She was 6 months gone with foal, and it hadn't been easy on her own. The unborn foal's sire was nowhere to be found, and Cherokee didn't understand why. Had she not been good enough for lead mare once he had seen the other mares on offer? Clearly not. She sighed and finally slowed, checking behind her again just to make sure. She had stumbled into the hunting path of a cougar, which was the cause of her hurry. Though she wasn't as fast as she used to be without the life inside of her, she had the endurance to outpace the cougar. The big cat had probably gotten bored halfway through the pursuit and returned to its mewling cubs, but Cherokee was never one to take that chance. She dropped back to a trot with a pained grunt and lowered her head, panting. Her painted coat was flecked with sweat and her swollen stomach heaved from exertion, her legs trembling ever so slightly as she moved. She knew she had to rest soon, and as she spotted a small lake she reckoned here was as good a place as any. She wandered towards the pool of water and sniffed the surface of it warily. There was no scent of predator on the wind, and satisfied that everything was safe she forgot her fear and began to drink, gulping the water down in famished thirst. She was starving, too; eating for one was tricky enough in this climate, but two? Most of the food she was eating was going straight to her unborn foal which left her forever hungry. Still, she thought as she drank, at least she wasn't thirsty anymore.

A blue roan watched the whole thing from a hill. His head was low and his eyes were half lidded in a dopey expression. He had a bored smile as he walked down towards the mare.God in heaven she was FAT!What had she been munching on to get that big,and where could he find some? With a snorting giggle,he approached the mare.
"Yo,what is happeningz my pleasantly plump sister?he said with a long drawl to his voice as he stopped a few feat from her."That was a sick mofo right there,my runny big gal."

Cherokee hadn't noticed any other souls around the area, so when she heard the sudden voice she jerked her head up from the water and whirled around, immediately on the defensive. Her ears were back and her teeth bared, her imagination running away with her, before she relaxed upon seeing it was a stallion, and a rather harmless looking one at that. "Oh...hello", she said a little nervously, her blue eyes looking the newcomer up at down. "Wh-what?" she said, confused; she wasn't used to the kind of language the stallion was using, and she assumed he was from somewhere out of her range. She did recognise the words 'plump' and 'big' and looked around at her stomach glumly. "Well I'm certainly big", she agreed with a small, nervous chuckle.

The blue roan nodded in a slow motion. His blink was uneven as he smiled at the mare. She had been rather agitated at first, but now she seemed chilled. With a nonsense mumble,he sat down on his hindquarters.Sat.Like a dog.He then looked at the mare and gave a goofy, lopsided smile.
"Fo realz honey buns, you is bout ta pop isn't ya?You must be eatin' like nobodies bizznazz am I right? Is cool.I ain't judge ya."he said with scratchy deep voice. He breath smelt strange when he spoke.

She blinked as he sat down like one of the tamed wolves she had seen strutting next to bipeds and tilted her head to one side, slightly confused. She had never met a horse like this before! And his breath smelt peculiar...not good and not bad...just peculiar. She managed to decipher what he was saying this time though and shook her head. "Well, I have half a year yet before I'm ready to pop. My foal isn't quite ready yet." She watched him, still a little wary of him despite the harmless aura he seemed to be radiating, and took a tiny step forwards. "Uhm, my name's Cherokee Promise, or Prommy if you want. What's yours?" she tried, knowing that the best thing to do in a situation was to start introducing yourself.

The blue roan gave a raspy sort of laugh as the mare spoke.Even tho she hadn't said anything funny, the male found her voice and big belly alone something to laugh about. Then again,he found certain bugs funny. With his ears drooping forward,he looked up and smiled.
"Isn't that just the b**ch tits ham string yo's.That name be bumpin' my fluffy sister.I'm all up an named Billy boy,ya heardz.I waz all travlin' around this dirtz hole an stuff when I sawz you haulin' it from that cat, gurlz."he said with the strange slang he used. There was something wrong with him.

Her eyes grew larger every time he spoke, and it became steadily easier tounderstand- but then again, she realised it was because it was more the amount of time she had spent in his presence rather than it being actually easier. She flicked an ear back and muttered, "Yes well the cougar was a surprise, but I managed to shake her off. She clearly wasn't as hungry as she thought, thank goodness." She smiled politely and lowered her head. "Billy boy? Well, that's a nice name. Um, not to be rude but is there something...wrong?"

Billy laughed as the mare told him about the cougar. He looked up at her and smiled lazily.
"Them cats is the wickedz s**t I ever seen, mah sister. They all up an rip ya breathin' tube out ya neck.Ya lucky like nobodies bizz, gurl."he cocked his head at the mares question.
"I got inta some realz crazt sweet stuff when I waz a little dude. All messed me up for the rest of mah lived time,ya heardz me.Is all good tho.I feel good all the timez and suff."he said with a goofy smile.

She chuckled. "They...they are a little bit. I'm a lucky girl, especially seeing as my belly stops me going too fast. Not good." She smiled absent-mindedly. This horse may have been a little odd, but there was something oddly endearing about him. She wasn't attracted to him, per se, but there was a likeable factor. Maybe it was just to do with the- "Oh I see", she said, that explained it. Something strange had been given to him as a colt. What it was she had no idea (she hadn't been around bipeds long enough to hear of their curious ways) but she was sure humans had something to do with it. "Well at least you always feel good. You don't have to carry the burdens of pain and suffering, right?" she said with a soft sigh.

Billy smiled as she mentioned her belly. He tilted his head to get a better view of the heavy mass of her stomach. He then looked at the mare and smiled as he trudged to his feat.He swayed as he got his footing, and almost fell over as he took the first few steps towards her.
"Smetimez it be better to go slow.Ain't no need to be all spazzin' like a headless meat bird,ya feelz.Take yo time, smell the smell goodz plants an stuff,ya know."he said as he laid his ear on her belly.Listening to the strange whooshing sounds.
"Yeah,gurl.Life is beautiful.Like,fur realz."

Cherokee watched him with a small smile and tilted her belly towards him slightly. She felt strangely comfortable around him, and it was only that that meant she was showing her stomach to him willingly. She was very protective over her unborn offspring, seeing as that was the only thing she had left now. She nodded; the cooky stallion was right, even though he had put it in a rather bizarre way. "Sometimes it's best to let the world whirl by without you", she agreed. She chuckled as he laid his ear on her belly, and felt her unborn kick at the spot. "Life is beautiful. Even if it's hard."

Billy listened to the sounds of the mares womb for a bit longer before puling his head away. The little life inside was moving around like no ones biz,and he thought it was pretty wicked. He gave a smile to the mare as he began walking.
"I ain't hurryin' no place, gurl.I be takin' it step by little step.Ya can feelz the magic of the trip with me if ya wantz, sister."he said with a sway of his clumsy body.

She heard other horses, she was certain of that much. Now, where were they? They could help her find her humans, couldn't they? The young palomino thoroughbred picked up a slow trot towards the voices, holding tightly to the hope that they could help.

The stallion slowly made his way away from the attack. Somehow he had managed to finally elude that Equus be dammed cougar, though it had left a mark or two on him. The blood drawn from it's claws stained his black and white coat. His auds perked at the sound of others, though they were downwind, they sounded like others of his kind. "Alright lad, it nae be far now..." he said to himself. He hoped the herd stallion would be an understanding one, all he really needed was a bit of time to rest....

An ear swiveled back. Hoof-beats from another direction? Well, that was alright; the more horses there were, the better her chances. At least... that was what she thought.
