"It's nice to meet you Summer", Cherokee said. Anyone who wasn't aware of a cougar really was on the wrong side of the tracks. At the mention of humans she laid her ears back and snorted nervously. "We don't get too close to humans", she said nervously. "I don't want to risk my freedom." She did however feel sorry for the mare and gave her a sympathetic nuzzle. "How far away from here was the accident?" she asked gently, "we could try to help you, so long as there are no bipeds around that would be interested in us." At the arrival of a stallion she became a little wary, flattening her tail and laying her ears back. Once he spoke though she seemed to realise he wasn't to be feared and relaxed. "Oh, w-we're not a herd", she said with a small chuckle. "And he's not my mate, just a friend I've met along the way. I was all alone and just stumbled upon these others. I was chased by the cougar too, seems he really is determined today." She meant it in terms of height, for the stallion was larger than she and heavier built too. She liked his accent, yet couldn't gauge where it came from. "Cherokee", she said in way of introduction, smiling warmly. This was turning out rather well; she arrived here tired and scared and alone, and now she was with others. Maybe the cougar was a mixed blessing.

The affection was a welcomed thing, and she nickered softly in gratitude, "I-I would appreciate that. I don't think they'd try to catch you, but I was born with them, so there was no need to catch me..." She was however a little surprised by Cherokee's reaction to the stallion, but she reminded herself that she didn't exactly know what this other mare had been through. It seemed alright, however, when Cherokee relaxed. Perhaps everything would turn out alright.

"I'm just not used to humans ignoring us. I'm used to running from them, and as you can see, I'm not really fit to be running too quickly at the moment." She smiled in understanding. "I see, I thought you were a little too...refined to be a wild horse, if you don't mind me saying. We probably look rugged to you. Where were you heading, a stable, a ranch?"

"Yes, I suppose rugged is a fitting description, and I imagine the foal you are carrying would slow you down." She smiled, but then looked distant for a moment, "I'm not sure where they were taking me... The always seemed to like sitting on my back and having me run as fast as I could, but... this last time, I couldn't run fast enough for them, and I got too tired too quickly... They seemed disappointed... and when the sun rose next, they put me in the moving box that they called a trailer, but I don't know where we were going."

Cherokee frowned. What a strange practice: having humans gallop you at full throttle whilst they sat on your back! She had never heard of such a thing, though she had only ever seen tamed horses when she was running away from them and the men on their backs. "I don't know much of the ways of humans, but I don't trust them. They are more cunning than cougars", she said bitterly. "But if they treat you right, I suppose you must mean something to them."

"I have come to find that each human is as different as each horse. Some are kind, others are not... The ones who pushed me beyond what I could handle were not so nice, but there were those I would carry that were, and it was fun, because they didn't push me or use those stinging sticks. I wanted to go back to the humans who fed me, petted me, and played with me, but they didn't come before I was put on the trailer."

"Really? Well, either way do ye mind if I travelled with ye for a time? That cougar is one persistant bugger, isn't she?" Florian replied, giving the trio a grin. "I've never minded traveling with company ya know." He listened to Summer's tale, his long tail swishing idly and nodded. "Ah so ye were a riding mare then, lass? What happened? I didnae think they'd jus let ye go, did they?"

Billy wasn't listening. He had zoned out sometime after the new mare Summer showed up.He blinked slowly as he watched some ants scatter across the ground. He loves ants,as they always was doing something.Usually carrying some dead thing on their backs. It kept his attention. He looked towards the stallion and smiled before looked back down and sitting on his hindquarters.
"Well ain't this be turnin' to a b***h tits party romp.Ya guyz be bumpin' with your awesome."

She turned her head to the stallion again bobbed it, "They didn't... The trailer got separated from the front thing pulling it, and there was fire... So I went to find help... ...With a cougar around, I guess it isn't really all that safe for us to separate..." Then she looked at the roan, having finally heard him speak, and was it ever an odd way of speaking, but she took a moment and smoothed out his words in her head, and then figured she got it, but didn't know how to reply.

"Well, I don't mind..." She looked to Billy for an opinion, but he seemed fixated on the ants on the floor. She rolled her eyes at him but chuckled nonetheless. "In fact I'd quite like the company. I've been on my own for quite some time now." It was almost overwhelming, the sudden company she'd received. "We better stick together", she said, her dominant side taking over as the last reminder of her previous status as a lead mare, "unless we want to be picked off one by one. A cougar won't attack a group." She chuckled in regards to the human comment. "Well I hope I don't see one anytime soon", she said. "Even though some may be good, I would prefer to keep my freedom."

"Well... if we do find my humans... I'll make sure you get to keep your freedom, but yes, I'm unfamiliar with how things work out here, and I certainly do not want to be picked off."

Florian shook his dial. "Nae lass, i'd not want tae be alone with a cougar on the hunt. What happened to ye sounds similar tae my own.....release out here. I'm sure we can all help ye with figurin what's what out here. Ye never know, ye may come tae like it like I have lass!" he finished, then looked toward the other stallion in the group, who looked very fascinated with.....ants?

Surprised, and at the same time encouraged at hearing that she was not the only one to have an experience like this, Summer turned her attention to Florian, "I... I'm used to being with humans though... I don't know how well I'd do out here without them..."

Billy's ear twitched forward as he listened a little. The ants had gone back into their tiny dirt hill, and he was bored again. He looked at Florian and Summer with a dopey smile,as he lifted himself off his butt and swayed trying to regain his balance.
"Yo my bubblin' buddies, ain't no frizzle to gettin' ya live on out here in thiz bizz natch.Just be cool,ya know.Live this motha like you gonna be pushin' smell good plants soon,ya heard me."

That was a little harder to mentally translate, but after a somewhat longer moment, she figured she got it, "W-well... it looks like it would be hard... ...And scary... Though I know that living each day like it's your last, if that's what you were saying, can be... fulfilling, but... I don't want this to be my last... and... I'm not sure yet if I'll have to stay out here. ...Maybe my humans are looking for me." But she was torn. She couldn't help thinking that it would be nice not to have to deal with the harsh humans anymore, yet there were humans she quite enjoyed being around.
