Cherokee smiled at the other horse and dipped her head in acceptance. "I...well I'd quite like a travelling companion", she admitted. "I've been on my own for a long while now, and it's definitely not easy being a lone wild horse in this area." She didn't even know where she was going; she had just had to leave, to get away from that blasted stallion and his mountain herd. The stallion who had stolen her heart and refused to give it back, even when he lost interest. She sighed at the thought. Maybe things would look up now though? Perhaps...
Her ears flicked back as she heard other hoofbeats and snorted, whirling on her hind legs as best as she could manage giving her berth. "Wh-who's there?" she said, trying her best to sound brave. She would have usually given her best shot at an attack but the cougar chase had exhausted her. She let a loud whinny echo out over the rather barren grounds. That wasn't the best plan, she reasoned afterwards, especially if the hoofbeats belonged to someone who was unfriendly. And however nice Billy seemed, he appeared far too chilled to be of much use. Her blue eyes flashed as she backed up, a worried nicker crossing her lips. "Seems there are a lot of travellers today", she said.

Billy barely heard anything. The sound of hoof beats not fazing him the slightest. He didn't have very good survival skills, and it was a miracle he had survived as long as he had.He turned his head to the mare and gave a lazy smile. What was she so panicky about?
"Yo,my sister, chill.Just some ground thunderz that be all.Ain't no need to spazz, gurl."

She gave him a surprised look. "Aren't you worried at all? They could be the shod horses of humans, or hostile stallions, or..." her voice trailed off as she realised how pathetic she was sounding, and sighed. "I suppose I'm just used to thinking the worst of things..."

Billy smiled as he kept walking at a slow pace. His hooves scraping across the ground every now and then as he moved with a stagger and sway.He sighed deeply and hung his head low while he walked.
"Naw,gurl I ain't be trippin'.I've been with them two leggy thing before. They ain't be snappin' they snappies at ya........Them Boyz with they ballz be trippin' over nothin' gurl.Ain't no spazzin' here."

Cherokee laughed. "You're lucky you're not a worry guts like me. I didn't use to be, but now there's another life depending on me, and I have to make sure it's safe." She didn't know when she started becoming so sensible, but she supposed it was what potential motherhood did to a mare. She could still hear the hoofbeats and stopped, turning to listen. They didn't sound like shod hooves...but the stallions ide was still sprouting in her mind... "I've not really had good experiences with stallions so far", she said with a grim smile.

Billy smiled and gave a wheezy laugh. He was a easily amused horse, more so in the presence of others. He looked at the mare and gave a humored snort.
"I ain't worry bout much. The little dude all up inside yo belly be kickin' with mojo, gurl. He be livin' it all up in there......Yeah,them ballsy boyz be big hasslin' ya know.Glad as a Mofo I ain't got they urges in s**t."

She laughed again and looked down at her belly, feeling her foal kick with extra gusto. "He certainly is", she said with a smile, "he's getting more energetic every day now." She flicked an ear forwards with interest. "Oh, you're a gelding?" she asked. Maybe that explained something, like the fact that she didn't feel threatened around him. Perhaps her instincts had already told her he wasn't a threat to her, who knew? "I'm...sorry, I guess? I know some stallions who would be more than a little upset if they became geldings."

Billy laughed extra loud at the mares words. Most horses had that response when he told them about his lack of male 'parts'.He smiled and looked back at her.
"Ain't nothin' to be frettin' over, gurl.Them danglies just get in the way.Boyz need to stop spazzin' over they nuttz,ya know.Just live an love,ya hear me."

The frightened sounding whinny made her pause a moment, but she certainly didn't mean any harm, and when the two other horses came into view, she let out a little nicker to reassure them of that fact.

The mare nodded in understanding. "I never knew what their problem was, strutting around like they were kings of the universe", she said a little bitterly. She softened though as she thought of Jazz, and how good he'd been to her before that other mare turned up. "Some are okay though. Just a smidge." She smiled. "Live and love, you're right." She then turned to hear the nervous nicker of an introduction, and she neighed back, realising it was just a young mare, maybe even a filly. Her golden colour made her easy to spot, but her elegance made it clear that she wasn't typical of this land. "Hello, golden one", Cherokee said with a small smile.

Relief washed over her when she got a reply, and she trotted over at a casual pace, "Hello. Oh I'm so glad I found others; I was afraid I'd-- Well, my fears were mostly unfounded, so they don't matter so much now..."

Cherokee smiled in understanding and lifted her head high in an act of dominance. "You're a lucky mare, there's been a cougar prowling around here lately. She can't be interested anymore, which is a relief." She rotated her ears around like radar, sure that there was another set off hoofbeats earlier. Focusing back on the newcomer, she introduced herself. "My name's Cherokee Promise. You can call me Cherokee, or Prommy, I don't mind either."

"A cougar? ...I didn't even consider a danger like that... Oh, right, names." She gave a sheepish little whicker, "I'm Summer. It really is nice to meet you, Cherokee. Um... to the point though... I was wondering if either of you could help me in any way... You see... my humans were transporting me, and that thing that was carrying me broke away from the front, and then there was fire... I couldn't get too close, so I went to see if I could find help..."

The stallion called out a greeting whinny, sure now that there were more than a few others ahead of him. "Well, aren't ye all a sight tae my sore eyes!" the stallion said as he approached. He was a little wary, seeing the other stallion and the pregnant mare, he knew some stallions didn't take well to others being around thier mares, especially if they were with foal. He nodded a greeting to the trio. "I dinnae mean tae be a bother lads, but if none of ye mind, might I make use of yer herd for a few days while I stop smelling like a meal tae your less savory neighbors?" He looked to the other stallion. "I'm jus askin tae be here long enough tae recover a bit, then i'll move on if that'll be alright with ye laddie" The gypsy Vanner tossed his mane to one side, trying to get his forelock away from covering his eyes, but met with little sucess. "Name's Florian, lads...!"

Summer turned and saw the injured stallion, and her heart sank. What was wrong with today? Why was there so much trouble? "What happened to you...? We're not a herd though... At least I'm not part of a herd... ...A-and the only 'lad' here other than you is him..." She bobbed her head towards the roan, and she hoped she didn't seem too presumptuous or anything.
