She closed her eyes in delight as the darkley coloured mare groomed her coat, onc again she attempted to stand this time more aware if her condition and thus rose slowly but with help she was able to stay up right. Now that Brook was on her feet it was clear to tell that she looked quite different from the others, she had very long legs, even for a foal and a long lean body type with a short elegant head.

Aubrey chuckled, "my..oh..my...ain't you a tall one sweetheart. Aubrey nuzzled Brook's little muzzle, an breath gently into her nostrils, exchanging breath, so she can recognize him, as her now sire. Aubrey said to Mariah, "we are now her parents Mariah. I know we are not going to find my Kira, and the rest of our herd for a while. Least we can do, help this little cutie to survive.

Little Brook nickered, breathing in the warmth of Aubreys breath and in exchange, exhaling her own.
She watched the group for a moment, brown eyes wide with anticipation. A small, creamy coloured butterfly, drew her attention away from the group. Tentitively at first, she took a few steps after it, the a few more, more confidently. After quietly passing the other horses, her veiw was clear and she could see the small open area that had lain just outside of the bushes. Although there werent many others, her eyes grew large and round with the amazement at seeing the other horses, as the only one previous to this ocassion she could remember was her own mother. Nestled amongst the rest of the herd, she could see another foal, like herself. Brook whinnied ecstatically, her expression bright, despite the hardship she had endured during her short time on earth thus far. Her tiny tail whipped about, partially to whisk away the flies and partially because she couldnt really contain herself. In pur playfullness, she kicked her back legs up into the air, as high as she could, although the ground, as damp and mucky as it was, was not quite ready for her to be running about and the slippery grass gave way and Brooks legs slipped from under her sending her into a slightly akward sitting position. Momentarily, the cheer and joy vanished from her face, leaving one that seemed more stunned in origin. Little Brook was quick to rake notice that she now had the eyes of most the horses around her, upon her and she giggled shyly, tilting her head about, to get a good look at everyone. She was sick and dirty and a bit cut up but the little filly still had a great deal of spirit in her.

Mariah smiled and trotted off after the filly. "Steady, little one." she said, and cleaned her more, then gently nudged her toward her milk.
Twilight gently laid down by the bushes, relaxing in the soft grass..

"You know, I was going to eat that...." Came a voice from the bushes behind the mare (Twilight). A large grey and white clydesdale head appeared above the mare's prone form, it's blue eyes meeting the mare's own. "I expect that behavior from stallions, thinking with thier other heads all the time..."

"Well, at least you said who, not what are you....." the grey mare replied, stepping out from the undergrowth, revealing her gigantic frame. "...it's something, anyway. I go by the name of Kolorsha" she said, stepping around the mare lying on the ground. "Dear, you may want to close your maw. It's funny to look at, but you don't come off as being very intelligent looking"

Kolorsha smiled. "If there were any who followed me, they'd have been doing so for seasons now. As for where I come from...." she tossed her mane, it having grown out for not being groomed in years. "...does it really matter? I'm a traveller, have been for a time now..."

( ACK! I"M SO SORRY GUYS. I got caught up in college and job huntin!)
Twilight nearly jumped out of her skin when the huge mare stepped from the bushes. Normally, she would have risen, and galloped away, but her heavy form prevented that.
Stark trotted up next to his sire once he saw the new mare. "We're curious because we don't usually take kindly to two legged's horses. They just lead horses off to never be seen again."

Kolorsha nodded in response to the younger stallion's words, noting the resemblance between him and the first. "Yes, judas horses, as humans call them. Mostly mares, every one of them a right royal bitch too, least when they're not leading other off as you say. Believe me, i'm not one of them..." Kolorsha replied with a smile. "..too big and ugly and as for the last, well I can be sometimes, but for entirely different reasons!"

Aubrey stood between his daughter and son. Nah, your not ugly, he replied. "My name is Aubrey, my daughter Twilight. As Aubrey nipping Stark's forelocks, "and my son Stark. Reason why just a few of us, "well, a moon ago, a terrible storm, hit my herd. The flashes and rumbling sounds scared my herd, and made them scattered. My beautiful mate Kira and I tried to bring them back. I returned, but my mate never came back. I figured she got lost As soon as daybreak, we are headed where the sun come up from the mountains. "Ah yes, that storm..." Kolorsha started to say, swishing her tail. "...as I remember I was a rather miserable wet mass of a mare trying to shelter under some sorry excuses for brush. Not exactly the easiest thing to do when you're a big mare like me!" She grinned. "If you'd have seen me then, I doubt you'd have said I wasn't ugly, my dear! If you wouldn't mind having me, i'd be glad to follow you for a time, Aubrey. It's nice having somehorse to talk to once in a while."
