The dun mare tilted her head slightly in confusion. She didn't really know how to answer that. With a small, understanding smile, the mare decided to just tell the stallion the short version.
"...It a part of an old legend we believe. It's nothing important......What matters is that these two are safe now,and that I will take good care of them. But,I can't very well do it alone.Would you perhaps be so kind as to escort me to the valley to the North?I know its a lot to ask,but it would be a great help,my Sir."she asked politely. She didn't want him to think she was being pushy or rude.

The grey colt finished feeding, recoiling from the mares groins he licked his velvet lips, content with his full belly he leaned himself against the dun mare, rubbing his neck against her fur and gazed at the palomino with his large, redish brown eyes as if to thank the stallion. He kept eye contact with the male and folded his legs beneath him, resting beside the mares front leg.

Fireborne nodded. "I suppose I can, i've no interest in seeing the young ones die. It might be I can find somehorse who's heard something of my herd as well..." He looked down at the foal lying beside Bolormaa. He smiled at the young one.

The dun mare smiled and licked the two colts lovingly. She prided herself on being a good mother. These young ones would have a chance with her,and she was more than happy to care for them. She looked to Fireborne and bowed her head lightly.
"No one wants to see the young die.And thank you,my Sir,for being so kind...When shall we leave,my Sir?"the mare asked in a soft voice.

(ooc: Hi! Hope you guys dont mind me jumping in to your story)
Watching from afar, a mare stood, observing the mare with colts, as well as the other horses around her. She lifted her muzzle to the air and snorted slightly, then sucked in the scent of the others. They seemed safe to approach, but as she had learned in the past, not all horses are welcoming to strangers. The warmblood mare began to walk forward toward the band. As she moved, her swollen belly lurched side to side, obviously housing what appeared to be a large unborn foal. Even for her tall, warmblood frame, her unborn foal was obviously much larger than a normal foal. Though she was late to be foaling, she showed no signs of labor when she walked, and simply appeared as though she would pop any second. She walked to a point where the other horses could undoubtedly smell and see her. SHe dipped her head a bit toward the ground to show her submission, then let out a nicker. THe pregnant mare was in no condition to run, so if these strangers refused to welcome her, tragedy could strike.

(Of course! I have no problem with you joining c: )
The grey foal spotted the mare and a sudden excitement came over him, he loved to see new faces and he regained his footing from under him to say hello to the mare, though the short rest hadn't fully regained his energy or strength so he became unsteady on his feet, so instead he stood with awkward balance and grinned and whinnied to the mare, playfully.

Fireborne shook his dial. "Not sir, Bolormaaa, just Fireborne. No need for formality with me..." he replied, then turned his dial at another's call. He saw another approaching, thier dial and auds held low in submission, as was the dappled mare's greeting. She was obviously pregnant, her sides swollen so much it seemed likely she would drop anytime. Fireborne wondered why she was alone, as if she was in a herd, no mare in her stage of pregnancy would wander without her herdmates. He nodded his scarred dial in greeting, answering her greeting with his own. "Well met, sister of Equus." he said.

THe mare listened to Fireborne's response. Reassured the small group was friendly, she approached them. She looked at the young foal with gentle eyes. "Hello little one." She then stood and looked at Fireborne, taking notice of his scars. "I am Kiowa.. I would appreciate your company if I may so intrude.. I would rather have the protection of others around me, especially while I am in this state." Her stomach jumped as her foal moved inside. In response to the movement, she lightly kicked her hind leg out. "If you don't mind welcoming two newcomers into your small group, I would be very appreciative. I bring no harm with me. I have simply recently found myself alone and without the company of others.."

Bolormaa shook her head and smiled."I'm afraid not,my Sir.I must insist on referring to you with honor and respect. My kind has a great respect for stallions,as they provide seed for the next generation."she said with a soft but insistent voice. At the new mares greeting, she walked over to the mare and nuzzled each side of her snout.
"My salutations to you, sister. You are blessed for your burden with child."she said gently with a soft sigh. She looked to Fireborne and lowered her head again.
"Might she travel with us,my Sir?"

"My kind?" Fireborne asked, confused. "We are the same kind Bolormaa. Aren't we?" he was about to say more when the new mare approached, introducing herself.
Fireborne nodded. "And I am called Fireborne, Kiowa. As long as you mean neither of us harm, you may travel with us." he replied. "I do not mean to pry Kiowa, but what brought you to risk yourself and your foal by leaving your herd?"

Kiowa nodded at Fireborne. "Thank you." She then shifted her weight on her hind legs. "I didn't exactly choose to leave. I was born into a large herd, consisting of horses my dam used to live with. But the older I got, the more and more my herd began to push me away. Eventually, when I was a yearling, my lead stallion got in a fight with my sire. He wanted to mate my dam, and my sire wanted to fight over it. As a punishment I guess, my leader chased me away." The mare laid her ears back gently, feeling her foal twist inside of her. "I was young and knew nothing about finding another herd. So when I came across a young group of bachelors, I decided to travel with them for safety. Long story short, I was mated by one of the stallions.. And as I grew nearer to foaling, they began to compete with one another over who would mate me next heat. So to avoid injuring myself or my foal, I left." The mare raised her ears forward.

From a hilltop, a lone dun Kiger stallion scans the area, sniffing the air for any scent of a herd. Suddenly he finds the scent. <finally... ...I found one, and not to far, saying to himself. He let's out a whinny, to give the herd there attention..."

The grey foal was still awake and greeted the new mare with a nuzzle, flicking his tail and twitching his ears excitedly, but a distant whinny frightened him, his body jolted and he pressed his body to the pregnant mare.

The stallion trotted down the hill, as the scent got stronger. Going through a tree line, he stop. He saw what he was looking for, a herd. It was small, a few mares, a foal. He must be the leader, as his eyes focus on the golden stallion. The stallion let out a friendly nicker, "I'm not here for a challenge..."

Kiowa looked toward the new stallion. Then back to Fireborne. She lowered her head and nuzzled the little foal as he leaned into her. She closed her eyes, thinking of the day when her own foal would be born and stand by her side.
