Stopping abruptly, ears pinned, his tone was clearly not pleased, "Fine. Go that way, but you'll be going alone. I'm out." With that, he turned and started walking the other way without so much as wishing her good luck.

Koti stared after him, her eyes tearing up again. I don't want to do this alone! She thinks. She turns back to the trail, the tears starting to stream down her face. She wanted so badly to travel with him, but now it seemed she had to do this on her own. She stands at the trail point, trying to decide wether to apologize and be stuck here alone, or to go by herself and search for beloved herd. She snorts and makes up her mind. With one last sad glance at Red, she slowly starts to walk down the trail, her head low,the tears still falling...

Skydancer, a Dapple Grey Thoroughbred Mare, was running along when she came upon the trail left by the herd. "It seems that they were scared into stampeding" She thinks and decides to follow the path soon coming upon the young Filly. Sky whinnied and trotted up to her "Hey are you ok?" Sky asked gently

Red heard the distant whinny from the direction Koti had gone, and he paused. She was probably going to get into trouble. Why should it matter, though? It wasn't as if she was really his problem. She was also probably sick anyway; a healthy horse's eyes shouldn't tear up unless irritated by something... And what was that thing she did with her mouth? Come to think of it, she acted more like a two-legger than a horse... ...Or at least what he knew of two-leggers...Perhaps steering clear would be best... but in good conscience, how could he leave one so young to fend for herself...?

Koti heard a distant call and looked around, confused. Suddenly she felt a soft brush on her shoulder and a very soft voice ask "hey are you ok?" Koti steped to the side and looked at the new horse with surprised eyes. " errr.. Yes" she studdered "I'm ok, I'm just looking for my herd" Koti was much less afraid of this mare then she was of red. "I'm Koti" she said, doping her nose in respect for the older horse. "What's your name?"
(Sorry guys! I was gone for a few days but I'm back now!, and yes Koti did used to live with humans so she picked up a few things from them.)

Figuring he'd at least keep an eye on thing from a distance, he moved downwind and headed cautiously that way. He could smell another horse upwind, so he reminded himself to be ready for anything.

Koti dipped her thoughtful, what if this horse was like Red? She thinks , a shot of worry going through her. She looked at the mare again, looked into her kind, eager eyes. Mabey I can trust her she thinks, making a mentle note not to make any stupid jokes about protecting the mare."I would love your help" Koti said flicking her ears forward. "As far as I know, my herd went this way" she said, flicking her ears to the trail.

From where he was now, it seemed as though the other horse he could smell was an older mare. The mare seemed harmless, but Red knew from experience that appearances could be deceiving, so he remained distantly watchful, just in case.

Sky nodded and started to walk towards the direction the herd went "Why don't you tell me some about yourself?" Skydancer asked

Well... Koti trotted to catch up to the older mare. I was born in a two legged barn to my mom hope. We lived there for a wile and master was very good to us.." Koti ducked her head, hoping the mare didn't become afraid of her because of her upbringing (many herds had abandoned her and her mother when they found out that they used to live with humans.) "when I was a few months old, out barn burnt down. My mother and I were in the pasture so we were able to escape the flames.. But our barn mates wernt so lucky.." Koti glanced down sadly wishing they were here.." Anyway" she said , lifting her head and taking a deep breath" we wandered around until we found this herd". Koti lifted her head and sniffed the breeze again, she could smell Red. She grinned and turned back to the mare. "Have you always been wild?" She asked curiously

Had the winds changed? He had positioned himself downwind, but... Lifting his head and flaring his nostrils, he flicked an ear, irritated with himself. Relocating himself further back and downwind again, he made a mental note to be more alert to the winds. For the moment, it would do him no good to draw attention his way, especially to a potentially sick filly whose body didn't seem to work the way a horse's should. He shuddered slightly, recalling the amount of tears her eyes produced, yet there was no dust apparent to irritate them, and those strange things she did with her mouth. Whatever it was that she might have, he didn't want to catch it.

"No I was born in a two legged barn as well; my mother, Windsong was a champion Racing horse. But then one night she was stolen from the farm; I was forced to take her place too early and got hurt during a race. The two leggers were going to kill me but the young two legged Colt who had helped raise me got me out of there before they could; he sorry I shouldn't be telling you that" Skydancer said
