Zaph chuckled throatily and remained standing, looking him over quietly. “I’m not surprised, what with your little passenger. You’ve had quite the adventure I’m sure.” He looked over his shoulder and snorted. “It’s no problem. Anyone would do the same”, he said modestly and slightly embarrassedly despite his age. He smirked as his ‘friend’ was mentioned. Oh, here started the beginning of the end… “His name is Ztardust. He’s a little younger than I am, smaller too, but he has a mouth on him that would rival the largest horse existing”, he muttered. “He’s harmless though, just a blabbermouth. He gets us into more trouble than he’s worth sometimes, but he’s my friend and he’s all I’ve got in this place, so we stick together. Come to think of it…he’s been gone a while…” He lifted his head up and let out a low whinny that though quiet travelled quickly.
Ztardust grinned at her, realising how easy this really was. “It definitely would, I would miss being in such a lovely mare’s presence!” He swayed his body slowly towards her and bumped her playfully. “You could come with us, what a great idea! Oh I’m sure Zaph wouldn’t mind, I’d love you to join us! We don’t know where we’re going either, but it’ll be much more fun to get lost together.” He suddenly twitched as he heard the other stallion’s call, and turned to Cariad. “Zaph’s calling me, c’mon! You have to come say hi.” With that, he broke into a gentle trot towards the noise, calling back in a higher pitched neigh.

She felt him bump into her she giggled "Th-thank you" She said blushing. Then she saw the stallion turn towards the voice. Though his trot was gentle Cariad cantered forward then stooped and looked back at Ztardust and gave him a wink. She felt so comfortable around this stallion for some reason.

Ztardust had only been trotting to make sure the mare followed, but once she surged into a canter he did the same, his auburn mane and tail flying behind him like banners as he caught pace with her, dipping his head down and letting out a joyful buck to expel some excess energy. He chuckled and nudged her again as they cantered together. "Anytime, anytime."

She laughed. She loved racing other horses! She gave a playful buck like he did and opened her stride to a gallop. Then she smiled and looked over to Ztardust to see if he was accepting her race offer.

Samiel nodded as he laid his head down. His eyes were beginning to droop from how sleepy he was,and he felt better now that he had some company. He hoped they would be able to rest for a while as well so he didn't have to get up soon.He looked to Zaph and gave a tired smile.
"......Well,tell him I said hello.I'm going to rest for a while."he said as he closed his eyes and drifted off again.

Zaph smiled. "Alright, I'll try to keep him quiet." He turned in the direction of galloping hooves and called out again, to let his friend know where he was.
Ztardust laughed at her uptake of gear and eagerly sped into a gallop, his strides becoming blurred as he caught up to her, his legs working like the pistons of a well-oiled machine. He heard another call and his ears flicked to the left as he veered off in that direction, throwing over his shoulder a playful neigh. "Not far now!" he chirped.
Zaph saw the stallion coming before he got too close and he reared up, swiping the air in an attempt to slow his idiotic friend down. Ztardust skidded to a halt and sat on the ground like a dog, gasping for breath and grinning up at Zaph as the older stallion dropped back to the ground. "Keep it down, you'll wake him up?" "A him? Oh Zaph you charmer, picking up stray stallions to wine and dine", Ztar said with a big grin. "Shut up." Zaph looked behind Ztardust and blinked. /Oh, a mare. Another tagalong for Ztardust/. "Oh. Hello, didn't see you there", he said, trying to be polite. Ztardust looked behind him and smiled. "This is Cariad, we met by the river." Zaph rolled his eyes. "Of course you did."

She followed Ztardust she first saw the other stallion rearing up. She was too busy looking around at the forest then her sight was turned to the body of a horse on the floor. 'PANG' {Oh no! Im not going to be able to stop in time!} She stopped her front legs and went into a rear. {thank mother earth that i stopped in time!} She looked at the white horse on the floor. She stretched out her nose to the horse on the floor. "Is he dead?" She asked maybe a bit to loud.

"No he's not dead!" Zaph hissed sharply, "and keep your voice down! He's asleep." "Aww how adorable of you, you're looking out for him! Oh Zaph, you're precious!" "Ztardust, shut it." Zaph looked on the verge of becoming dangerous so Ztardust laughed it off and stood up properly, shaking himself."He's a unicorn. His name is Samiel, and he's exhausted, so leave him be", he said, rather like a mother hen shepherding her chick away from harm. Ztardust walked past Zaph and looked the sleeping unicorn over. "He's kind of pret-" "Don't you dare", Zaph said venomously, and Ztardust backed off with a smirk. "You're so soft on him", the other stallion teased. "I am not! He's just had a rough time and needs to rest, which won't happen if you're prancing about like a pixie!" Zaph then turned to look at the mare. "Who is she?" he asked simply. "She's a friend!" Ztardust said, but kept his voice down to heed Zaph's warning. "I told you, her name is Cariad." "Hmmph", Zaph grunted.

She simply replied with "oh" As she heard him say 'unicorn' she backed away like he was a plague taking big steps back. She turned to look at the other stallion "Are you Zaph? I-Im Cariad" She whispered and bowed her head in apology and in respect. She had angered him what else would she do.

Samiel slept through the sound of the other horses with only a flick of his ear.He was dead to the world at the moment, and was sleeping deep enough that he may have to be kicked awake should they decide to leave. He sighed in his sleep and rolled over to rest on his side, mumbling as he dreamed.
".......nmm........Mi..na.........hmm....."

Zaph snorted his acknowledgement, but when Ztardust gave him a ferocious glare he sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm not good around others", he said. "I am Zaph, I'm sure Ztardust has told you all sorts of horror stories about me and none of them are true." He flicked his ears forwards despite his harshness. "Zaph's just a big softie when you get to know him", Ztardust said, beaming. "He's just got a tough crispy shell you gotta get through first." Zaph laid his ears back. "I'm not an easter egg." His ears pricked up when he heard the unicorn mumble and turned his head back towards him. "Mina?" he said, confused enough to forget his surly nature and stare at the sleeping stallion. "It's okay", Ztardust said to Cariad, "he'll get used to you. He was like that with me for a while too, it's how he copes I think." He butted the taller stallion in the belly and added, "Cariad is going to travel with us for a little while, is that alright?" Zaph looked down at Ztardust and then at Cariad, working something out in his head. He knew Ztardust was a sucker for anything pretty, but it never led to anything. Maybe he was trying to make something stick for once. "Sure, why not? She can join the party of outcasts, rebels and exiles", he said with a small smile.

She looked at Zaph then at Ztardust deep in her mind a thought came. {These two are so much like brothers} she couldn't believe how they acted, once she wanted a relationship like that but the time was long gone. She looked over to the sleeping unicorn. She said quietly "Is he coming too, Samiel is it?" She looked back and gave a small smile {Hopefully this could turn out good}

Zaph looked back at the sleeping unicorn and flicked his ears forwards. "Perhaps", he said, "if he wants to." "You really are sweet on him, Zaph. I've never seen you like this!" "Ztardust, don't make me hurt you." Zaph snorted. Ztardust flattened his ears in submission to the other stallion but grinned nonetheless, butting him in the chest like a colt would to a parent. “You’re just a big softie really aren’t you Zaphy?” “Don’t call me Zaphy”, the stallion snapped. He stomped his hoof onto the ground in warning. He then focused on the mare and tilted his head. “Where do you come from, anyway?” he asked.

She looked at him "Um, it's kinda a long story, but I came from a valley past the mountains behind you." She said hopefully she wont have to repeat the whole story again. She simply gave a quick look at her mark then at Ztardust. Looking for reassurance.

Zaph looked behind him at the imposing looking mountains and flicked an ear back. He wasn't a massive fan of heights...or the cold. Or pointy objects, to tell the truth. Mountains therefore weren't very appealing prospects to him. "Ah, right", he said promptly. Ztardust looked at her sympathetically and nuzzled her comfortingly to help her cheer up. He guessed that talking about it would be a painful thing for her, and he was pretty sure Zaph wouldn't be as sympathetic. It wasn't because he was an outwardly spiteful stallion; he just didn't do pity. "Point is, she's not going back there any time soon!" Ztardust said, nodding his head as if to clarify the statement.
