((Since Lell and I know each other's carries inside and out I won't bother with profiles but let me know if I need to put them up anyway.))
The demon still lay fallen in the cold forest, frozen in his wrath for the moment. Symbol stood over him, somber as the drizzling woods around her. This was the only way. Jete' and Stormglory stood in the background.
Lidione was in labor. She had to do this before Aero was born or Element would lose him forever.
"I really don't want to do this..." she sighed, but she knew it had to be done.
She arced her neck and drove her long, slender horn right into his heart. His eyes shot open and he gasped for air while she chanted: "Through darkness light always prevails When lost beauty will find its way Only one path leads to eternity Death is the way to Divinity!"
She ripped out her horn and he thrashed violently on the forest floor before becoming still. His horn blazed white and his ebon wings became dust that was swept away in a breeze. His blood ran scarlet instead of black at long last and he drew in a ragged breath. He stood shakily and stared at Symbol with milky white eyes. She touched her muzzle to his and he blinked, the white gone and replaced with his natural two toned eyes.
Symbol sighed in relief. "The youngest Diviner. Won't Element be happy."

"Liar, liar, liar..."
The pale blue mare was chanting quietly to herself, over and over, turning her back away from their small band of family and friends. Ever since the battle...the mare shivered, ten-thousand water droplets cascading from the sudden movement, dripping onto the stony ground. Drip. Drip. Drip.
It was almost music to her ears, she twitched one of them toward the sudden noise, and was quiet for a moment, listening. Then she returned to muttering to herself, eyes occasionally flickering back to the group behind her. "Element. Help, perhaps?" A tall, grey stallion glared at her with those sky blue eyes. His father's sky blue eyes. Element simply hissed in response. "Leave her be..." Said the stallion beside him, an indigo painted unicorn by the name of Averel was saying.
But none of them could help it.
They were all on edge.
From fear of attack, fear of Twisted turning well...Twisted, and fear that Suki would appear out of no where one day, black and mindless like the Demons.
From fear, all from fear.

Lidione could hear Symbol chanting in the drizzle down below, and finally gave another push, comforted with the fact that she had saved Kalen in the best way she could have managed.
And like that, the foal was out on the cold stone of the cave, shivering violently. Glory ooggled over it while Lidione sat up slowly. She turned to look at her son... Only to find that it wasn't a son like its predecessor. It was a tiny filly with a blue roan coat and a white mane and tail dipped in black on the end. The tiny stub of a horn was white and so was the set of fluffy miniature wings settle on her back.
"Aero..." she sighed, and nuzzled the tiny baby. "Oh my... Glory said from behind them. Lidione drew back to see what was troubling the medic and saw it immediately.
Aero's eyes were glassy, white-blue with an odd film over them.
The header of the new age was blind. And a filly to boot.
*
Kalen looked to the cave, his sense flooding back to him in the seconds of silence that ticked past. He took a weighted step forward and shook all over from the effort. "Element," he said, monotone, like a half-dead horse.
Symbol shook her head and Storm got ready to intercept him. "He doesn't know how to call on the Divine Spirit. He can't fly or stab or anything until I teach him." explained the dust-chocolate mare.
Kalen's eyes held a tiny spark of anger when he glanced at her. "I need... to... see her." he stammered, each word a challenge. His fluency would take a few weeks to return.
"Not now my pet. Soon."

“She’s…blind?” Was all Zularin could whisper in response, staring at the so called new savior in shock. His jaw dropped and he struggled to shut it again. “She’s beautiful.” Averel said, a sort of distant look in his eyes, in a kind of lost voice rather than his normal calm one. Zularin’s eyes flashed back to look at him, but then quickly locked on the tiny child in front of him.
Element stood silently, flickering her matted chocolate tail back and forth, shuddering a bit from the cold. Her eyes were dark and haunted, sunken in their sockets. Broken. Again. She turned her head slowly, a cracking sound echoing through the air once, watching the foal for a moment before staring at the wall again. Her frantic murmuring had stopped. “Paladin…” She whispered his name once, then closed her eyes and sank slowly to the floor, darkness overtaking her.
Zularin looked up, startled. “She’s tired. Let her sleep.” Averel muttered to him. “She’s lost her love, she had to give up her son. Let her have sleep.”
Zularin looked out into the pounding rain, hearing Element whisper to herself in her sleep.
“Out of the darkness, and into the light.”

Kalen felt her fall to the floor and staggered with her. Symbol shouldered him onto his feet. "I don't remember being half as unstable as you. You're really a delicate flower Prince." she laughed.
Stormglory fluttered off to join Lidione in welcoming his child and Jete' and Audette followed closely behind.
Symbol turned to face the palomino stud, whose colorful eyes were hollow and gem-like from the wakening. She touched her nose to his and called upon the Divine Spirit. It granted them their Diviner forms and Symbol hummed happily with the light that filled her. Kalen straightened like a lightning bolt had zipped through his spine. With each form change he would gain a little more fluency.
"Now, do you remember how to fly?" she asked him. He looked at his wings, white and pearly now, and finally gave a stiff nod of his crowned head. The elk's antlers that adorned it were glorious. She smiled and turned opposite of the cave. "Let's be off then." They took off, flying away from the cave, to warm up the baby Diviner.
*
Lidione was helping Aero up when Storm arrived. He was informed of the filly's limitations before he approached her, as if it might change his opinion on being a father if he found out any other way. He helped her when she began to stumble and Lidione smiled at him, eyes smoldering with affection. "I'm so proud," he sighed. "And what a bit you have to be proud of!" Glory gigged as she watched happily.
No one could argue with that.

Averel's ears flicked back at the sound of wings flapping on the wind. He peered past Zularin and Stormglory to catch sight of two figures flying away. His brows raised, and he looked back at Zularin, who smiled slightly. Lightning struck, thunder crashing in the distance. Element jumped in her slumber, but there was something else...someone was out there.
Who, Averel did not know, and that unnerved him more than anything else. He slowly stepped away from the group, staring out into the stinging rain, narrowing his gold flecked brown eyes. A shadow moved around the bare treeline, almost familiar, a flash of buckskin. His eyes widened and he stepped back, cloven hooves stumbling on the rocky floor.
She's not here, she can't be here...He muttered. He looked again, and saw a flash of maroon in the darkness. He nearly sighed in relief, as it was probably only Suki...right? Coming to join her brethren? Not the one he once knew.
Not her.

Twisted was on her feet in a split second, staring out into the rain with trained cat's eyes. She felt the pull again, but she had to resist...
Siobhan came to Averel's side. "What is it?" she whispered. The shadows around ehr feet rippled slightly and danced in anticipation. She felt the unease that came from below.
*
While Symbol was teaching Kalen how to navigate on the tougher gales, she saw the flicker below and stopped in her flight. Kalen jerked around uneasily before coming to a stop near her. "What is... that?" he asked. His personality was showing in his voice again, thankfully. Symbol shook her head. 'I... I don't know. Do not engage, understand? Stay up here."
And she dove in to get a better look.

“Someone’s out there.” Averel said in a hushed tone, staring with dark eyes out into the cold downpour. “I’m not sure if it’s someone friendly, or someone…else.” He growled, backing up slightly. His ears flattened against his skull as a twig snapped in the forest below. Another flash of color, as the form clumsily galloped through the trees, darting from the trees to the hills and out of sight. Buckskin coat, steel grey…”Suki. It has to be.” Zularin said, almost to himself. A chill went down Averel’s spine, and the air itself seemed to get colder almost.
“Boo.”
Jumping, Zularin and Averel flung around to see a dripping equine form standing over Element.
“Suki!” Zularin sighed in relief, her maroon eyes flashing in the darkness. They looked unnatural, and as she stepped into a shaft of light, they could see…”Suki, where are your wings…?” Zularin asked slowly. She tossed her golden head, chocolate forelock falling over her eyes.
“That’s not important, what’s important is that Zirika has been to see me. She’s decided to join her Wraiths with Myrrh. We are officially screwed, because we've got no one.”

Arcolyte screamed and aptly passed out, her body making a thud on the cold ground. Siobhan shook her head.
Symbol landed in the cave mouth, her feathers fluttering quietly on the wind. When she saw Suki she whinnied to Kalen, signaling him that it was clear to land. She turned to Jete'. "I need you to give him a little shock. His fluencies are coming back too slowly." The filly nodded and waited for the new Diviner to land.
But the shock wasn't needed.
As soon as he saw Suki, he was able to remember everything. he lit up from head to tail with happiness at his memories being restored. He nodded his heavily crowned head to his sister's statement. "Yes, quite screwed, but we have a secret weapon." he said, casting a glance to Aero, who was finally on her spindly little legs. Lidione smiled.
"Don't count us out just yet."

Suki sniggered as Arcolyte fell to the rocky ground with a loud thud, echoing across the cave. She tilted her head, eyes glowing with wicked amusement at her sudden faint. “Wow. What an amazing Witch she’ll become.” She grinned sarcastically, twitching one ear lazily, and then proceeding to step into a shaft of pale light, revealing herself to them. She was much more filled out than they, in the gloomy light of the storm; they could see that she was far less frail than they, bearing so much more muscle than they had in a long time. Well, besides Kalen. Her eyes glittered like thousands of rubies, dangerous like a rattle snake.
She stared at Aero for a moment with raised brows, and then her lips pulled back in another cold smile. “Yes. Because that’s the next you.” She scoffed to Kalen, swishing her tail once. Zularin narrowed his eyes. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, Suki, go the fuck away.” He hissed, baring his teeth angrily and stepping in front of his twin protectively. “It’s not like you’re wanted here anyway.” Suki looked stunned for a moment, and quite possibly hurt at her brother’s request, but quickly regained composure. “I wasn’t planning on staying to long, anyway.” She said, her voice raised a tone, her wounded ego nearly shining through for a moment, but she stayed calm. “It’s not like I’m good to you anyway, lost most of my powers, honey, I’m useless to you.” She snapped, only a few inches from Zularin’s face. “Terribly sorry, those dead things must have been great company considering your state.” Suki’s eyes blazed. “Well at least I know Daddy Dearest still loves me, considering how much he complains to me about how he always hated you.” Zularin let out a loud lion’s roar that bounced off the cold walls, Averel jumped. “What a fine boy he could have been! If only he was born with wings. Guess I have to ha-“ Suki mocked, but never got to finish. In an instant she was on the ground, Zularin’s hoof on her throat. Suki smirked. “Bring it.”
“Enough.”
Element’s pained snarl echoed through the silence, and she slowly and painfully returned to all fours. Ears flattened, she tossed her scrawny head. Her burning glare scorched through them in the darkness, and Averel backed up slightly.
“Enough, you fools.”

Kalen's lip twitched and he turned to Symbol. "Get this mess off of me. These things are heavy." She nodded and dispersed the Spirit, leaving Kalen as a plain old horse, other than the black crescent and the jagged scar beneath it. He shook himself, relieved, and stepped closer to Zularin and Suki. "Now now siblings. Suki, if you've come to be of no use to us then why come at all? I'm sure we would have figured out what Zirika was doing sooner or later," he sighed.
Lidione was tired and all of this was wearing down on her. She touched her muzzle to Aero's and gasped at the connection. Aero shared a vision with her mother through their minds. She pulled away, shaking. Storm was at her side, gushing questions as to what had happened. "I know what we need to win," she panted. Siobhan turned her attention from her fallen apprentice to the fire attuned twin. "What?" she barked. "What do we need?" Even she couldn't hide her desperation. "We need the power of the Five. We have that of Noli, Jaiden and Liesel, but nothing of Jess and Taylust. Without them we don't have a chance. Separated, our powers are worthless."
Symbol nodded at her words. "It's true. Kalen can't do more than fly without the others. the only one here with any promise is Aero, and she can't even see. Now, if we can find Therion or Shadda's bodies I could attempt a resurrection, but they're probably in whatever is left of Dersienta." Kalen winced at the mention of his failed creation. It hurt still.

Suki stepped back, a shocked expression painted across her hurt face. She didn’t bother hiding it, but quickly, her expression was quickly changed to that of anger as she shoved Zularin off and got to her feet, smirking almost as he fell to the ground with her push. She strode right up to Kalen with the grace of a cat; putting her face barely an inch from his. “I knew it. I knew it all along. You all thought of me that way. And for your information, I came to tell you what I know, and if I’m not wanted, I’m quite sure I don’t belong here anymore, do I? Never quite fit in, considering I’m a half blood. Not Noli’s kid, I’m not. Just Jaiden’s. Jaiden and fucking Karsey, the whore you all dispise.” She spat, backing up shaking her head in disbelief. Her eyes were gleaming with pain, and she backed right into Element, who bit her sharply on the butt. She launched forward, plowing through Averel and jumping over Zularin, then standing and looking back at them from the mouth of the cave.
They ignored her.
Zularin was getting to his feet, “Drama queen…” he muttered to himself and returned to the group, glaring at her. Only Averel looked to her now, and he stepped lightly over to her. “What do you want, Averel?” She hissed, facing the rain now, eyes closed, deep in thought. “Your mother, you said her name was Karsey?” He began slowly. Her eyes snapped open at the very name. “Just…tell her Averel said hi…and that I defiantly do not think she is a whore, for your information.” He whispered, so quiet she could barely hear. “How in the hell…?” But he was already back at Siobhan’s side, speaking with the group. Suki returned to staring at the storm, eyes blank. “He knew my mother…” She whispered to herself. Mother… The very thought of her blood dam sent shivers down her spine.
She turned to the group once more. “Good luck finding our cousins, all. But you should know, their lives? They’re over, done. YOU weren’t there when they finally said goodbye for the last time, you weren’t there watching YOUR mother die at OUR father’s side. You didn’t see them join Liesel, and you defiantly did NOT hold Father as he gave his last breath. Remember that, and remember that it’s time to move on. Our lives start now, not sixteen years ago, not when Zirika was still around. Try to get it through your thick skulls that you can’t save everything.” She snapped, stepping into the rain and disappearing with a flick of her tail. Zularin glared after her.
“I still say she’s a drama queen.”

Symbol shook her head. "She underestimates the power of a Diviner. Come then Kalen. Let's be on with it." He cast a quick glance at Element, who had yet to acknowledge him since awakening, and got a portal ready, set for the ruins of Dersienta. "I can't guarantee what'll be there. Be ready for anything." Symbol nodded and walked through, Kalen following.
On the other side, it was like a post apocalyptic mess. Dust covered everything and the world reeked with death. Only one of the four jade moons remained in the sickly brown sky, now a disgusting venom green. Symbol sneezed at the mess before moving along. The two didn't get two steps before Kalen stepped on something. He looked down and his heart sank. "Razion." The war monger's head lay pitifully on a jagged stone and the remains of his frazzled mane blew weakly in the wind. Symbol cleared her throat, and they continued.
At last they found a glimpse of white hide. After pushing some rocks out of the way, they unearthed what was left of Shadda. She was a mess, but Symbol would be able to fix her. "Try to find her brother," she told Kalen as she began the ritual to revive the fallen mare. After some digging, Therion hadn't been found. When Kalen was about to go back, a cold touch startled him and he turned around. There stood Therion, looking like a walking skeleton, with a cold glare set in his teal eyes. Death had not been a mercy granted to him. "Therion..." Kalen gasped. "That's me. What the hell are you doing back here in disaster land?" he asked, his voice like gravel. "Looking for you and Shadda. We need your help." "And who says we'll help you? You left me here. Shadda died because of you. We owe you nothing."
*
Siobhan felt a pang of jealousy at the thought that Averel had known Suki's mother. Had there been anything there? What was the connection?
She turned away when he looked at her, pretending to be looking at Arcolyte.

Element was silent as a stone as she followed Kalen and Symbol through the portal without their awareness. She looked around at the disaster waiting to happen, the dust, the green sky. And then she smiled, a cold, sinful smile. “Looks better than before.” She hissed darkly, then looked back through the portal that still remained open. “I’m done.” She muttered to herself, grabbing a fold in the air and ripping, then peered through the hole. Lush greenery and autumn trees opened before her, whitewashed fences and beautiful stone barns…she nearly cried a little. She saw the lake and the big stallion pasture used for the friendly ones…
Without a second glance she stepped delicately through, closing the door behind her. Stepping onto the soft grass, she felt a familiar breeze blow through her chocolate mane, and almost instantly she breathed in its sweet scent. “Home…” She whispered, lowering her head and taking a small bite of the tender greens that was warm and delicious in her mouth. She giggled, stepping down the dirt path toward the stallion pastures. She had to see him before going back to the stable. Resting her chin on a fencepost, she let out a call that was more like the old her, and he came running. Down the slope with a bay dun at his heels, a young palomino stud with a chocolate mane and tail, galloped up to the fence. “Mother!” He said in shock and delight. “My boy, my handsome boy, my you’ve grown.” Element sighed, resting her head on his now, and breathed in his familiar, leathery scent. “I thought there was a war…” He said darkly, looking up. Element’s head snapped up and she backed away. “Don’t you dare speak of it. I just…what has become of life for you?” She nearly whispered the last part. Paladin shrugged and began telling a tale of Laira being an idiot on the tales, while Element listened to every word.
But only one thing broke her thoughts for a moment, a hiss of sorts. “Therion…” ---------------------------- Averel looked through the portal in disgust, closing it at once. Zularin didn’t look up, he was glaring at nothing.
No one had seen Element leave.
Not to the farms, at least.

Xanthe touched her nose to Zularin's shoulder, ready to flinch away should he lash out. he was in a scary mood today.
*
No better luck came to them when Shadda was living once more, tattered and filthy. She felt the same as her brother did about assisting them, and no matter how Kalen pleaded and demanded, there was no way to get them to come back. "Just let us die here. You left us once and you can do it again," Shadda snapped, her mother's fire shining in her slate gray eyes. "If you aren't going to help us at least come back to the world with us. A place where you can live well." Kalen begged. "Fine. But after that, we'll have nothing more to do with you," Therion snorted.
Kalen nodded and got a portal ready. A scent drifted on the stale wind and teased his nose. Element... He shook it off. It must have come before the first portal shut. The ragged siblings dragged themselves through and symbol shut the portal behind the four of them.
Therion collapsed on the stone, gasping for breath. Shadda wasn't far behind, the tiny bit of strength that had been given to her upon revival now gone. She looked up weakly and mustered a smile. "Hey guys."
