((is it all right if I bring some predators along? I'd like to see Nahara in action )) "Home" he said in reply to the mare's question, she intrigued him, he had never seen a creature like her, equine in appearance but with the power of a predator, something on her reminded him of panthers , graceful and deadly... he was glad his son was not with him or he might have tried something stupid "but I need to find the sea first" Flies had begun to gather near his wound and it made it itch terribly, his short tail was no use so he turned his head to bite at them, licking the bullet hole to keep it clean.

((Sure, go ahead! =D))
Nahara snorted and shook her mane elegantly, letting it flop down one side of her ebony neck. "You live over the sea?" she inquired, licking her lips free of the marrow and lifted her head up to watch him through slightly narrowed eyes. "The sea is quite far from here. You have a journey ahead of you." She noted his discomfort and walked towards him again with a languid pace, head lowered and nostrils flared. The flies were clearly annoying the smaller horse, and her tongue lolled out of her mouth slightly. "Do you need some help?" she inquired.

Taro rose to his feet as the mare approached "No, thank y....!!!" He fell to the ground suddenly, lifting a cloud of sand around him, a full grown leopardess had pounced at him from the brush, holding him down by the neck.
It all happened in an instant. He could feel her sharp teeth pressing his throat shut, cutting his skin like daggers! he flailed for a second, then lay completely still, waiting for the leopardess to grow confident and loosen her grip... then, in one quick, sudden motion he grasped the feline's skin between his teeth and rolled over, twisting her neck in an awkward angle.
She immediately released him, both of them regained their balance in an instant and held each others gaze... Taro coughed a little but never broke eye contact with the feline... ears pressed against his skull, teeth bared and eyes gleaming like a cold steel katana.
Taking advantage of the situation, another leopard, a full grown male, jumped at Nahara, sinking it's claws into her shoulder and his teeth into her withers! a third, younger male slowly advanced toward Nahara's prey, dragging a few pieces toward the bushes...

The sudden action that exploded in front of her made Nahara rear up, her long elegant legs swiping the air before she alighted and made to surge towards the pair of brawling creatures, but before she was able to reach them she saw that Taro had managed to shake the female off. She couldn't help but feel a little impressed; for such a small pony, he sure packed a punch.
She was going to calmly wait and watch to see what the little gelding was capable of, but then she felt the weight on her side as another leaopard lunged out of the thicket. With an angry scream, she pivoted on her hind legs and bared her sharpened teeth at the tormentor on her shoulder, and whipped her head around to grab hold of the nearest ear. The cat yowled with pain as the mare kept her grip and tried to swipe at her face, but Nahara smirked and very simply threw herself to the ground, the side on which the leopard was clinging first, and the satisfaction she got at the screech of pain and surprise was like music.
She rolled over with the cat thankfully dislodged and instead of backing off like a normal horse would have done, went full in on the attack, her hooves flying at the stunned beast like hailstones on the earth. The male finally managed to crawl away to avoid her sharp hooves, but he looked a lot worse for wear. Nahara watched him beadily, her red eyes almost glowing with the excitement of the attack, and noted that the cat was limping, and limping badly. "Serves you right for attacking someone like me, you mangy feline!" she cursed at it. She ignored its snarl of rage and caught sight of a younger male dragging away her kill. Her carcass. She squealed in rage and shot towards him. Her large shape and clear fury was enough to put the inexperienced male off his meal, and with a snarl he retreated as best he could to avoid the raining hooves.
She snatched a chunk of her kill back from him and trotted off, knowing not to bother tangling with another leopard for nothing more than dinner scraps, and then saw that the male leopard was recovering from his ordeal. "Oh Equus, won't this beast realise he is beaten?!" she shouted to the air, and as the cat pounced she did too, the pair colliding with a cacophony of snarls and neighs.

((Woooow! go Nahara she's awesome!)) Taro stood his ground, the leopardess charged forwards with a roar and so did he, none of them dared to attack again... Tension rose as they circled each other... the feline tried to get behind him but he would not allow it... Then she leaped! Taro was ready for her, he shifted his neck and allowed the feline to bite the right place, his thick mane kept her fangs away from softer tissue, skin could heal later. Instead of fighting against the momentum, he went along with, using the same force from her pounce to wheel her around and slam her against the floor. The leopardess screamed in surprise and before she could recover, small hoofs slammed against her ribcage again and again, pounding repeatedly at the same spot... The roan pony had been fighting bigger and stronger opponents his whole life... he could not rely on strength alone to survive the battlefield, instead, he had learned from other creatures how to use the enemy's strength against them... Kicking at just one spot worked well for predators, sooner or later they gave into pain. She swiped at her attacker but he evaded her like a gust of wind. That was it, roaring and slashing at thin air the enraged creature swiped at everything around her, but only air and sand met her claws. Finally, the feline got to her feet, only to meet a cloud of sand kicked towards her face... Taro watched as the leopardess backed off, rubbing her sore eyes, he reared before her, neighing loudly, and slammed his hoofs in front of her face. The injured female had enough, she backed away and ran as far as she could from the pony. Taro snorted, his head held proudly high, felines where all the same! then he quickly shifted his attention to the black mare. His eyes widened as he watched the mare fighting a much larger feline... and she looked like she didn't need any help. "Impressive!" he thought, she was definitely not a creature to be trifled with. Still, he couldn't help but feel a flare of fear when watching her. He stood on the sidelines, allowing the dark mare enough room to fight, he kept his guard up, ready to jump in if he had to.

On the moment of collision Nahara curled her forelegs up against her chest and then struck out, the hard edges of her hooves gouging marks in the male's coat. The leopard yowled and in retaliation clawed at her shoulder with an outstretched paw. Nahara shuddered as she felt the blood pour down her shoulder, and her eyes shifted. She was now not working to defend herself, she was working as a cold blooded predator, and she was going to end the creature's miserable existence.
The male was distracted, having seen the younger male chased off and the female vanquished by the small gelding, and his lack of attention cost him dearly. Nahara sunk her sharpened teeth into the back of his neck and clung like a feline herself, ignoring the squeals from the big cat as it tried in desperation to free itself from her. She brought herself down to her knees and forced the cat underneath her, biting deeper and pinning its limbs to its sides. All that could be seen was the erratically thrashing tail and the heaving sides of the animal beneath her.
Nahara knew that she couldn't lose her grip now; if she did and the cat turned itself around she had her most weakest point exposed to his mercy. The cat was snarling and yowling beneath her, and she knew she had to work quickly. Having pinioned its most dangerous parts, she released her grip slightly to search for what she was looking for. As her teeth searched in the thick flesh of the cat's neck, she found it and with eyes flashing dangerously bit into the beginning of the cat's spine.
What she was met with was not a snarl, but a scream, a scream that reverberated around the area. She waited patiently, crushing it in her jaws like it was nothing, and the squirming began to lessen. When she was sure it was immobolised, she let go and got back to her feet, licking the blood from her lips. The cat was still alive, but barely, and she could see it still twitching.
She looked to the small horse and leered at him. "You fought valiantly, pony. I'm impressed. I'm used to fighting off predators, but I have to admit these were very determined."
