Impressed, Enigma whinnied his encouragement, lifting his front hooves a couple inches off the ground.
Ardelle was left blinking due to the unexpected show, "Well, you're quite the showoff, aren't you?" But the moment she said that she went silent for a long couple of minutes in realization. "No. Show-- You're... a circus horse...? ...It would explain your collar. ...And..." She pulled a folded up piece of paper out of her pocket and unfolded it to reread it, "Well, I'll be damned; this certainly makes sense now." Giving the horses a brief wave, she took off for the building she had come out of.
Now Enigma trotted over to Etamin with an enthusiastic bounce to his step, "I think that might have worked."

((Could I bring in the thieves again? maybe after sunset?)) "You think? oooh I hope so! I want to see my humans again" she smiled eagerly "you'll like them they're really fun" she trotted towards the edge of the paddock, sniffing the air in the direction where Ardelle left, she stopped suddenly "you know... I just realized we may not see each other again after I leave" the though made her head drop a bit "you two have been so kind to me and I'd hate to leave just like that" realizing her own pessimism, she quickly shook her head and put on a smile "I'll never forget you or Ardelle or your kindness"

((Sure)) "That thought has already occurred to me... but I believe that you'd be better off where you belong... I may not even end up meeting them if you're taken to them rather than them coming here..." He watched her for a moment before responding to that last part, "I think I speak for Ardelle as well as myself when I say that we won't forget you either."

((sorry for the really REALLY late reply... things have been really busy))
"I hope Ardelle gets to see our show, I think she'll like it" The sun was beginning to set, she walked elegantly towards the edge of the paddock to get a better look at the stables, bathed on the warm, golden light of the sunset "it's very beautiful!" she sniffed the air and let the pleasant scent settle on her brain "my friends won't ever believe me hehe, the tale about Ardelle's stables, stretching as far as the eye can see, glowing golden in the sunset and the smell of grass and hay and wood.. and the dark-coated knight that saved me! the brave Enigma, it's quiet a sto...."
BANG! a gunshot shattered the air
The champagne mare jumped at the sudden noise and bumped against the fence, she stood still with her head held very high... her legs where shaking with the urge to run
Several more gunshots could be heard all around the stables... And seemingly out of nowhere, a man dressed in black came out of hiding, pointing a gun towards both horses.
A black car parked just in front of Ardelle's door, a man on a black suit, wearing sunglasses, came out with a megaphone: "This is the boss speaking, you are surrounded, come out and negotiate or we'll shoot every single person or animal in sight starting in 10... 9... 8..."

((No worries, I figured as much ^^ ))
He was watching and listening with quiet amusement, but hadn't the time to reply before the shots rang out. Ears flat, Enigma stepped in front of Etamin. Goodness, the things those humans were holding were loud, but surely that was all. He stretched his neck, ready to bite the human or bite the metal things out of their hands, despite the fact that he was not a biter, but he'd do what had to be done.
Ardelle stepped out calmly, figuring it was best to keep a level head, but she was already on her cell phone with the police, describing the situation, and following instructions as she came out.

The man kept the gun pointed towards the horses, following their movements with it. "Steady now you black oaf, you! don't make me shoot you"
The boss took a gun out himself and pointed it a Ardelle "good girl, now drop the phone or I'll shoot it out of your hand" he walked a bit closer towards her and dropped the megaphone "Listen, let's finish this quickly before the police arrive, you seem like a reasonable young woman so let's speak business..." he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigar, he signaled one of his mend and he lit it for him " this mare's owner got in a bit of trouble with us, so we're keeping the blasted beast with us until these matters are solved, you should know how much money these horse beasts thingies are worth, after all you do business with them as well" he let out several rings of smoke "So here is the deal, hand her over and we'll give you 10% of what we get for her, we get out of here, no one gets hurt and we all live happily ever after and such, but refuse and..." he snapped his fingers and the man pointing the gun at the horses pulled the trigger! he shot several warning bullets at the ground, close to the horse's feet.
Etamin whinnied and galloped aimlessly around the paddock, she was not used to bucking but every inch of her wanted to do so. fear gripping every fiber of her being, she finally stopped, trembling with her head held high, tears rolling down her chiseled head. "Not those loud things... please" she had seen what they where for... one of those killed her mother, she was sick, and a man on a white coat pressed one against her head and... she neighed loudly and tossed her head in despair, there was only one thing left to do "this is all my fault I shouldn't have come here! Enigma, you and Ardelle have to run, it's me they're after I'll.... I'll go to them, just get away from here" her heart was racing, her warm green eyes where still full of tears...
The boss removed his sunglases and stared at Ardelle in the eye "it's up to you, sweetheart... make up your mind quickly or we'll decide for you" he took another long smoke at his cigar "you have 10 minutes"

Enigma simply snorted at the goon's words to him.
As instructed, she let the phone fall from her hand, and despite knowing the police were on their way, did not disconnect the call before dropping the phone; that way, the phone and the operator on the other line recorded everything. "Her safety is more important to me than whatever money you would offer. Besides, I would never make any financial deals with you anyway; I can clearly see where that would get me. The mare stays here until her legal owner comes to claim her."
Now the shots surprised Enigma. Apparently something came out of those metal things, and that thing that came out broke whatever it hit. He reared slightly, but now he knew what to expect. That was all he needed to keep his bravery up, and though he did not look at her, he spoke to Etamin, his voice firm, "Relax and stop talking such nonsense; we are handling this, and everything will be alright."
Ardelle, meanwhile, glanced at the horses, ever the more reassured seeing her stallion's bravery, and thinking to herself, Ten minutes is more than enough; the police should be here in far less than that.

((OOC:If its alright, I'd like to join the rp, if you guys would prefer I could join after this commotion has blown over. I'm a new member also.)) The character I would like to roleplay with is quite oddly named 'The Piebald'. He is in fact a wild black tobiano stallion who had been constantly mistreated in the past, and his wounds begin to bleed once more, every few hours, due to him catching them on other objects. He is aggressive towards humans, and extremely noisy in his stall, often finding himself slamming against the stall doors. A more in-depth description of him lies here: allequineroleplay.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=bios&thread=147&page=1))

((Of course you can. Lemuria hasn't been here in more than half a year, so I think we can safely jump to something else. If she comes back, she and I can continue this, and I can hop back and forth between settings.))
Ardelle had, of course, been notified that a new horse had been brought in, and due to his behavior, promptly moved to an end stall. However, having also been informed that this horse had hurt another, she knew caution would be required for the time being. Picking up a bag of carrots, she headed to the newly occupied stall, and set it down on the tack box by the stall. Only after doing that did she turn her eyes to the horse behind the stall door.

((Ok, thanks so much ;D)
Home... A burning imprint lingering within the darkest points of the mind...
The dark shadow of an equine moves through the stables, slamming its weight against the walls numerous times. Snorting in an agitated manner, the equine kicks out its hind legs, pounding them against the door, for a moment not realising the human was there. Whipping its cranium up swiftly as a familiar, yet chilling, scent invaded its nostrils, the horse paced forward slightly to 'examine' the human carefully. The shadows leak away within the stables, revealing a large mustang stallion, coated with dried mud, old scars, and evidence of heavy bleeding. It was clear his coat had never been cleaned, and he seems highly uncomfortable, unable to stand in one spot for more than a few seconds. Tossing his cranium down with a heavy snort, the black tobiano stallion propelled himself up in a rear, forehooves thrashing about within the air, as he plummets back down towards the stable's floor. For a moment, he simply stares at the human through deep, almost pleading, hazel optics.

She had been warned, but she couldn't help but frown and take a step back upon his outburst, despite the stall door between them, though her eyes never left him. The poor thing was in a sorry state, but he could be quite the handsome horse, provided he could be tended to. And what was this? When his eyes locked on her, she thought she saw... Well, she would certainly have to see how this played out, but for the time being, she took back the step she had faltered, and cooed softly, "Easy there... it's alright now..." In order to allow him to take in her scent and maybe help him see that she meant no harm, she moved up against the now battered stall door, but she did not put her hands near him yet, lest he try to bite her. He clearly didn't trust her enough to be taking carrots from her yet, so that would have to wait. Slow and steady. She would need to keep her work with this horse slow and steady, and this would most certainly be a project that would require a gentle hand.

Lashing his banner quickly across his hind legs, the tobiano stallion flicks his auditories forward, alert, studying her actions, listening intently to her speech. His black and white forelock is swaying across one hazel optic, covering it almost entirely. 'The Piebald' lifts his cranium swiftly, nostrils flaring as he steals another glance towards the bipedal creature standing behind the door. There were no lights within the stable, the shadows constantly dimming the view of the stallion. He was clearly well build, however, in a state. Raising a forehoof quickly, the mustang slams it back down, creating an almost unaudible echo.
Exhaling sharply through his nostrils, the stallion bows his cranium, spirit engraved within his optics seeming to become dim. He glances over at the biped once more, before turning his gaze to stare blankly at the stable wall, a few wounds on his shoulder an flanks bleeding down his coat, staining some places a deep crimson. In his view, the human would just probably glance over at him and leave once again...

She remained still in contrast to all his movement, her eyes having yet to leave him, and she saw something glisten on his coat in the dim light. The light. Why hadn't she thought to turn the light on? Upon flipping the switch next to his stall, she could see that it was blood. She had to get in there to tend to his wounds, but that would be dangerous... It didn't matter; it had to be done. First moving slowly to distance herself from the door, she looked to see if she was out of sight from within the stall before hurrying to the supply room to grab cloth, ointment, bandages and a bucket of warm water. Arms full, she made her way back to the stall, and put her load on top of the box by the carrots. She then tucked the cloth into the belt loop of her jeans, picked up the bucket, and steeling herself, slowly entered the stall, closing the door almost all the way behind her.

The stallion doesn't notice her departure, only responding as the stable door closed. With a surprised snort, the stallion propels himself onto his hind legs, forelegs not quite stretching as far as the girl. As his heavy frame returns to the terrain, one foreleg is lifted of the ground as best as it can be, deep gashes cutting through the flesh and muscle. Snorting once more, the stallion shies away into the corner, hazel optics widening with a slight hint of fear and anticipation. Nostrils flaring a few times more, 'The Piebald' bows his cranium with a second snort, auditories flickering quickly toward the human, gaze scrolling across the biped within the stall. Over his life with humans, he had been taught that pain was related with them. Obey, just get by.
His mouth felt dry, from the lack of any water, and he was gradually starving, ribs visible though his pelt. He tossed his cranium to the side, auds flickering back against his crown, flanks quivering slightly, although he seemed to make no attempt to lash out.

Upon his rear, she yelped and jerked back a bit to avoid any potential injuries, but he didn't end up hurting her. However, his body language after the fact, made her heart ache. Setting the bucket down and dropping the cloth into it, she sat by it on the stall floor. She would let him get used to her before she tended to his wounds. In the meantime, she finally looked away from him to further show that she was no threat, her gaze taking in the details of the stall instead. Her grooms had put a bucket of water on the wall hooks and had filled the hay rack, but it looked like the stallion had not touched either. Another thing she would likely have to help him with. She let out a little sigh and rested her chin on her knees, dropping her hand into the bucket to idly swirl the cloth around in it. The poor horse. Hopefully a whole lot of TLC would help, but she doubted there was enough of it in the whole world that would completely fix things, damned if she wouldn't try though.
