Could she really be starting another one? Why?! Jonathan allequineroleplay.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bios&action=display&thread=47Again, long bio, just skim
My sleek black form nearly floated from place to place, grabbing at something in the grass here, tossing my head there, there was no exact rhthym, no real rhyme except the one in my head as I moved. The spirit that travelled with me today was a horse, not completely out there, but I hadn't had many horse spirits travel with me before. He just floated along, scanning the skyline, his mane and tail floating out even though there was no wind. He watched out for me, even if I couldn't hear him, and I knew he would alert me to the presence of any other if I needed to be told. I could only assume that he had been the herd stallion of some lonely mares when he had been alive, just the way he held himself and the constant sense of safety in his company... it seemed all so natural. Of course, it's possible that he was some awesome loner who'd lived such a life that he had gained a reputation as a warrior, but there were so few of those these days and the only I knew of were from stories my mother had told me. I glanced up at the stallion curiously as I snatched a small rat out of the grass and swallowed him whole. He just blinked at me once, then looked to the sky. I followed his gaze, but there was nothing but a single hawk soaring above me. I think he was trying to tell me it was time for him to depart. I bowed deeply to him, a regal, elegant movement, and he whinnied-I could almost hear it echo in my ears-as his form began to disolve in a soft breeze that had picked up from the east. My amber orbs glistened briefly, reflecting his final moments before he disappeared from this world forever. Such sadness for something he was obviously very happy, very proud about. I snorted and shook my head, he would have been disappointed. Unfortunately, I was growing lonely now and the sun was slowing beginning to lighten the horizon to the east. Sunrise would soon be upon me, then nooning and I'd have to find some shelter to rest in. I hated noon time... it was always so hot... and now I would have no one to share my rest with, to feel beside me and perhaps converse with. Such boredom...

(http://allequineroleplay.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bios&action=display&thread=45) It was nice here.
Quiet.
They didn’t follow me. She didn’t follow me, he didn’t follow me.
I lifted my proud head to the sky, a light breeze pulling my chocolate mane back in it’s talons, and my lips were slowly pulled back into a smile. Sighing, I slowed in my gait, now at a gentle lope, now a trot. My maroon eyes snapped open, peering about with their cat-like pupils. One ear twitched toward the treeline on my left, another toward the empty grassland on my right. I kicked up my heels, leaping into a gallop, kicking up dust as I ran.
Just running. Thinking. Avoiding them.
Peaceful…
Yeah, I didn’t stumble on that very often.
My nostrils flaring, a strange scent filled the air. Sliding to a stop, dirt and dust flying through the air, I stood stock still. My eyes were wide, ears perked forward. It was another being, another equine. I wasn’t quite sure what I felt of that, yet. Should I run, should I make it my bitch, or should I just…be normal? I laughed out loud at the thought, my loud laugh echoing off the trees and into the field on my other side.
I knew I had to stop.
But I couldn’t.
I could never stop.

I wandered slightly farther, eating a mouse here and a moutful of grass here. It was so dry and brittle here... if I were going to eat it it may as well be sweet, so I tried to stick with the rodents. I admit I'd never gone after anything too large... like another equine or a deer or anything, although the idea of deer meat didn't sound all that bad, but I knew my conscience would probably chide me for a while if I did. There were mice to spare.
"Hmm?" I commented to myself as I detected the sound of hooves pounding the ground, flicking my ears around to find the source and resting to the west. I wouldn't be able to smell whatever it was... equine or something else. My interest had been kick-started.
As the hoofbeats stopped so did I, curious but not interested in getting myself hurt. I paused just before a small rise, one leg lifted as my amber eyes darted back and forth and my ears flicked forward and back. Where had it gone?
Laughter, pure, entertained laughter filled the air and I started enough to prance backwards a step or two. It was closer than I had expected but now I was really curious who or what it was, so I returned, climbing the rise swiftly to peek over the top and search for the source. With a snort I saw the mare laughing wildly below me.

I quickly shut my mouth, a serious look etched into my face, looking around anxiously. It had grown closer. It was near. My lips curled into a wicked smile, and my eyes darted up above me, to the hills. He stood there. A stallion. What fun. I giggled like a child, like a filly who just seen a butterfly, and turned my body to stare up at him. He was just peering over the slope, I could barely see him. At a time like this, I’d ask for his name. No, not out loud of course, but I’d ask her his name, and she’d give it to me, but I dared not risk having her glued to me again.
I took in a deep breath, closing my claret eyes for a moment. He was young, far younger than me. But then again, I had seen so much in so little, and he was probably just seeing his second summer, while I gracefully entered my…was it my third…century. Well, in my homeland time. This world was different. It had only been a few years here, while in my home it had been centuries. Strange, the matter of realms and magic, but I will not get into that here.
I stared with a gentle smile up at then. “I see you there, child.” I called, swishing my long chocolate tail, twitching one ear.
“You cannot hide from me.”

(( Fabulous character by the way! I'd love to learn more about her history))
I flicked my ears forward at the sound of her voice, interested but not yet willing to stand equal to her. She unnerved me a bit, and upon further inspection I realized that her eyes were a stunning maroon. Strange for an equine, much like my own. I shuffled my hooves in the grass beneath them, tearing up the earth just a little bit as my curiousity bit down hard than my sense of self preservance. I was just lonely for company without any of my spirit-ish friends around.
"Hello," I said, tossing my head as I topped the rise and looked down at her. She looked incredibly strong compared to my lanky two-year-old form and I wondered what kind of company she may keep... if it would be anything like me.
Of course, who was I to assume that she wasn't any bit as strange as I?

((Sounds like both of you have some interesting characters and I imagine that using the same characters for that long would result in fun histories haha! No problem on the comments ))

((Exactly why I use Suki whenever possible, she’s so much fun! :3333)) My lips twitched into a cold, malicious almost smirk. He was lonely. Young, lonely, the perfect combination. I looked up at him with curious ruby eyes. “Greetings, colt. What brings you to these parts?” I said simply, swishing my long chocolate tail once. Small talk, it was called. Pffft. Oh well, it would work for some time until I could snare him. I took a good look at him, from my position below. Long-legged. Child-like. Should I feel bad about this? Eh.
He looked weak, compared to my lean form, in perfect warrior prime, frozen forever. Plus I knew fighting tactics, you could never even dream of if you were only like…nine seasons old. I win. And yet…I felt as if he was different…almost like me. I mean, I could talk to dead people man! That’s fucking awesome, is it not? Sort of. Not really. Yes…no…don’t make me choose.
But this colt…
He was different.
Yes, very different… I purred to myself. I twitched one ear, growing impatient for his answer. Yet it had only been a few seconds, still, it seemed like forever to me. Mortal time, where every seconds count…I have centuries, baby. Smiling to myself again, I looked up at the colt with a flirty grin.
I would snare him.

"Brings me? Well I left my original herd if that's what you mean. Nowhere else left to go 'cept here," I shrugged, my head bobbing at the odd movement. Was she flirting with me? Barely old enough to take care of myself and here an older, much more impressive mare was actually paying attention to me? Most would have turned the other cheek and left me to my own devices. She was definitely interesting.
I tossed my forelock into my eyes, hiding the slitted pupils to the best of my ability. They'd been known to frighten even the most daring of horses, those amber eyes, and although I had no doubt that this new acquaintence was no normal horse I wasn't about to take any chances of losing her company so soon. No I was definitely interested in learning mroe about her and those maroon eyes.
"But what would bring such a mare to these lands? Normally only young stallions roam here abouts, seeing as they would find no place in a herd yet," I said, continuing the conversation to the best of my ability. It had been a while since I'd actually spoken to another creature and recieved a response.
I took a few hesitant steps forward, closing the distance between the mare and I so I could get a better look at her. Formiddable indeed. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side if she got into a mood. At this point I was wondering why there was no companion with her though...

My dark smile only widened as he took a few hesitant steps toward me. Yes, come here pretty, pretty. My thoughts cooed, and my maroon eyes flashed darkly. I swished my tail once, turning so my sides faced him at his words. “Ah, but you see, child, I am no ordinary mare.” I said, tilting my head so that my chocolate forelock fell out of my eyes. “I’m…different.” I chose my words carefully, rather than letting them slip over my tongue like I usually did.
“Good choice of words.” A voice said quietly from behind me. My claret eyes flicked back, and I bit my lip to prevent a loud hiss from escaping me. Him. Jaiden. My father. This colt wouldn’t be able to see him. He was dead. Therefore he was not there, and since this colt could not see him…well…might as well continue on with the show. I looked back up at the hilltop, swerving around so that the front of my body faced the mortal once again.
Mortals were always so foolish.
“What is your name, child?” I called, stamping one hoof on the ground as a warning as Jaiden stepped toward me. I didn’t even look back. I just felt him there. I smiled innocently up at the colt. “Sorry. Horsefly.” I looked at the equine again, he was…black. Just black, and he bore no demon markings across his back like I did. But there was something about him…but he was so young.
He wasn’t like me.
Or so I hoped.

I was intensely interested in the mare's words as she turned and twisted. I took another step before hesitating... another equine stood behind her... a stallion... a ghost. I snorted and stopped fully, titlting my head this way and that to look at the being a little better. His mouth moved like he was speaking, but I couldn't hear, I had never been able to. I wondered why he seemed to travel with this mare now, perhaps they had had a relationship?
But then she glanced back as well, and the subtle movement of her lip made me wonder, if for only a moment, had she felt him too? I flicked my forelock out of my eyes for once and tried to look at them both more clearly, wondering if I should say anything or not.
"My...? Oh, my name is Jonathan," I said, tearing my ears from the ghostly presence with a blink and quick shake of my head, "... and, uh, what are your names? I mean, your name?"
Wow, awkward... I dearly wished I had had more social skills because I obviously needed help focusing. This wouldn't end well if she suddenly thought I was mental... she may even kill me or something, which i hoped to avoid if I could.
"Sorry... I stutter every once in a while," I said with a nervous smile.

He knew.
I don’t know how but somehow he knew.
I took in a sharp intake of breath, before returning to my state of composure, and I smiled up at this…Jonathan. “Jonathan? My name is Suki.” I purred, swishing my long tail again. “What are you doing, daughter?” Jaiden sighed into my ear, and I flicked it into his face. He tossed his head indignantly, and hissed. I laughed once, smiling and ignoring the angry hiss. “A stutter? I do not mind, Jonathan.” I said smoothly, twitching my ear once.
“Now why is it that only young studs seem to wander these lands?” I asked, lowering my head to sniff a bit of grass before hesitantly taking a few bites. My nostrils flared with the strange scents of this world, not only was this not home, they STILL followed me. My ruby eyes flashed back to glare at Jaiden silently for a moment before looking up at Jonathan again.
He had been moving toward me.
But then when my Father had arrived, he had stopped.
That is how I know.
That and I can feel it, right down to my bones.
